How it works
Tonight’s bags, explained.
Encore Bon is a Luxembourg website against food waste. Late in the day, bakeries, pastry shops, caterers, cafés, grocers and florists publish what they have left as surprise bags at a gentle price. You reserve online and pay in store.
The essentials
- The bag
- A surprise selection of the day’s products the shop didn’t sell. The shop gives an estimated value, and you pay about a third of it.
- The price
- Set by each shop, usually between €4.99 and €7.99. You only pay for the bag: reserving is free.
- Reserving
- A first name and an email are enough, no app, no account. Up to 2 bags per reservation. Your pickup code arrives straight away.
- Paying
- In store, when you pick up, in cash or by card depending on the shop. Encore Bon takes no online payment.
- Pickup
- During the window shown on the bag. Show your code at the counter, pay, and it’s yours.
- Can’t make it?
- Cancel from the link in your email, up to the start of the pickup window. After 2 no-shows without cancelling within 60 days, reservations are suspended for 30 days.
- Where
- All over Luxembourg, in five regions: Luxembourg City, South, Centre-West, North, and East. A region opens as soon as 5 shops take part.
- For shops
- €1.49 per collected bag, no subscription, no commitment. The first 12 weeks are free for the first 20 shops.

Spot a bag
Late in the day, shops publish what they have left. You see the price, the estimated value and the pickup time.

Reserve in 10 seconds
Your first name, your email, 1 or 2 bags. Your pickup code arrives straight away.

Pick it up
Show your code at the counter during the pickup window and pay in store. The content is a surprise: whatever didn’t sell.

Frequently asked questions
What’s in a bag?
A surprise selection of today’s products the shop didn’t sell: bread, pastries, ready meals, fruit, flowers… The shop states an estimated value, and you pay about a third of it.
How do I pay?
Directly in store when you pick up, as usual (cash or card depending on the shop). Encore Bon takes no online payment.
Do I need an account or an app?
No. A first name and an email are all it takes. Everything happens on this website, from your phone.
What if I can’t make it?
Cancel from the link in your email, up until the pickup window starts: the bag goes back on sale for someone else. After 2 no-shows within 60 days, reservations are paused for 30 days.
What about allergies?
The content changes every evening. Ask at the counter before you pay: the shopkeeper knows their products and will tell you about allergens.
